Thanks to everyone who came out and visited or volunteered their help with the Family Fun Fest. We had a very pleasant day and though the crowd never got huge everyone seemed to have a good time. We look forward to our next Fun Fest in 2014!
Well, we're almost there. As you can tell it won't be much longer until the Trailhead is completed. Crews are forming and pouring concrete this week. The city is very happy to announce that as part of the project FDOT replaced the original 8" cast iron water line that was laid in 1963 as well as installing new shut off valves in that area. We wish to thank them for this much needed upgrade. We hope to see everyone out on the new trail soon.
Commodities Distribution will be on May 29th from 1-2 pm at Wilson Robinson Pavilion.
The Community Garden has available space for those individuals wishing to plant there. Commissioner Gabe Green has recently disced the area again to control the weeds. The site is located in Holly Hills along 129th Avenue. We will be updating data here and on the city FaceBook page as events develop. Please contact us with any questions.
On March 12, 2013 The Board of Directors for the Suwanee River Water Management District voted to award the City of Archer a grant in the amount of $350,000 towards our Waste Water Treatment Plant project. Mayor Ogborn, Commissioner Jones, and City Manager Al Grieshaber attended the Board meeting to deliver a personal thank you on behalf of our citizens.

As many of you are aware Baskerville Donovan, Inc. and members of the City Commission performed a walking survey throughout the city a few months ago. BDI has developed a project titled "The Archer Story" based upon that survey and it has been presented to the agencies which determine how much financial assistance we are eligible for in our Sewer project. Westside Samaritan Clinic:
The Westside Samaritan Clinic, held at Westside Baptist Church, officially opened its doors to the public on June 7. The clinic offers free primary care to men, women and children every Thursday evening from 5:00-8:30pm. Appointments are not necessary but if you would like to schedule, or for more information, please call 352-333-7700 ext. 134.
